It connects to your Xbox console via an included USB-A transmitter, so your connection to this is a little instant. The use of this button on the left cup will give the headset more power, and that is because the LS15X, even if you want to use a cable, is used to play with a mobile device like the video, and therefore the use of the headset. This is something that you find yourself using, especially for the LS15X which is capable of really taking away anything happening in the real world. This headset has been used many times and has very much been used for this.
There are the controls found on the left ear cups and a similar system allows you to re-dial the whole volume, while the press will mute all of the audio. As long as you are careful when the microphone is on and off and transmitting, a bright red led will glow on the end of the boom. It’s easily accessible, the dial can adjust the volume of the game to the audio, while the press of the cup can change the mic (with a very short press), or even switch on/off your mics (just holding it for a couple of seconds). As we say, with almost all of the headsets, volume and game/party chat balance are achieved on the two large, large dials connected to the external earcups.
You want to try and feel for the buttons with the headset on your head, but when you hear the results you have the feeling that the buttons are slightly tricky, so if you are trying to change the tone, the buttons can come into play, so you can press them, either the EQ button on the right cup that cycles through Natural, Signature Sound and Bass Boost, or the power button on the left.Īside from a 3.5mm audio jack for wired connection, the Micro-USB port for charging (seriously LucidSound, Micro-USB?!?) and the detachable boom microphone, everything is available on the headset. There are buttons on both the right and the right cups, but the design is completely integrated, but just noticeable. The LS15X is a pretty low-priced headset, apart from the Shock Blue colour. The height of your head is very small, so they should fit without fuss.
The cups rotate well by 90 degrees so that you can move the LS15X around your neck easily. That headband is well padded on the upper side of the head with a clean white sponge taking any pressure off your head. It’s also very minimalist: a carbon fibre-style detail flows through the externals of the headband slider and the right hand side onto the earcups. It comes with the usual styling of LucidSound, too, well designed and contoured, with the plastic designer’s headband flowing a lot into the cups. This headset works as a conversation starter. With the Shock Blue flavour of the LS15X, there’s no chance that you can move stealthily in the gaming circles you frequent. And that doesn’t mean they stopped filling the market with great sounds, but with the officially licensed Xbox-centric LS15X headset, LucidSound continue to provide a lot of options. A company that came out of nowhere to deliver us the likes of the gorgeous look LS30 in 2016, before teaming up with Snoop Dogg for official Limited Edition Greatness in 2019, a year later they were bought up by PowerA. LucidSound have really been on the gaming market in the last six or so years.
